2024 Grad Night

Class of 2024 Might Not Have a Grad Night

Why is Fundraising Important

Fundraising is important as it can aid in students having a fun senior year and allow students to go to many events. Fundraising also provides the help and needs of a community and brings us together. Some of these events could consist of prom and Grad Night. This allows for Seniors to have a fun and memorable last year of high school. Grad Night is very memorable for students as they get to go to a theme park most of the time and have fun with their entire class. However, to have a Grad Night, students, and more specifically the class of 2024, need to help fundraise for this event to happen.

Fundraising also helps in bringing the total cost of the ticket for Grad Night down. Many of us cannot afford an outrageous price and spend a lot just for one day with many other expenses for seniors. This can include cap and gowns, prom, and Graduation parties. Fundraising not only helps the cost of expenses to go down but allows for more leeway for even more fun activities and memorable experiences during Grad Night. Our ASB Vice President Senior Estrella Vasquez who attends Greenfield High School says, “Class of 2024, help us fundraise so that we can have a Grad Night and keep up the spirit throughout spirit week let's keep the spirit trophy!” By reducing the amount of money that students and families use, fundraising ensures that Grad Nite becomes an inclusive and unforgettable event for all students, bringing everyone together for a night of celebration before embarking on their new journeys after graduation.

Attention all seniors class of 2024, we are in a dire situation as our class currently has only $2,700. If we seniors even want a chance to have a good Grad Night, we need at least 16,000 dollars according to Ms. Gray, the class of 2024’s advisor for Greenfield High School. However, she also said that we can see a Grad Night that costs closer to $20,000. Now, as this might seem like a lot of money, Ms. Gray and the class of 2024 can make this possible. To reach this threshold we need the help of the collective efforts of the class of 2024. We must also seek to fundraise as much and as fast as we can both outside and within the school. While the school will help a lot in our fundraising, we as have to do our part as well.

Time is limited and we must start now to ensure that every senior has an equal opportunity to enjoy their Grad Night that is both unforgettable and affordable. We currently have until mid-March, which is around six months to achieve our goal. This may seem like a small amount of time, but it is more than enough, and if we reach that goal our Grad Night tickets can range from around 150 dollars. A closing statement from Ms. Gray “If you have any questions don’t hesitate to come talk to me, my goal is to make sure you all experience your grad trip.”

How Can You Help as a Student or Parent?

As a student, one can help by participating in the fundraisers we have lined up. One option is to purchase our Class of 2024 T-shirts, not only for yourself but also as gifts for family and friends. Wearing these shirts not only displays your class spirit but also directly contributes to our Grad Night fund. Also, the Class of 2024 will collaborate with Greenfield City Hall to help with the Harvest Festival this fall. We are also teaming up with the Lions and Rotary Clubs for food fundraisers, and we are even planning to host one of the upcoming school dances.

Students can also actively participate in food fairs and assist in selling chocolate boxes. A word of wisdom from Greenfield High graduate the class of 2023, Alex Gonzalez: “One thing seniors can do is sell food or candy everyone loves as a simple way to fundraise.” These small contributions allowed the seniors of the class of 2023 to have an enjoyable Grad Night and to enjoy their last moments as high schoolers. Every little fundraiser helps and the more people we have helping the better. LET’S GO BRUINS!
