On behalf of the staff, faculty, and administration at Greenfield High School, I am happy to welcome you to the 2020-21 school year! My name is J. McKenzie, new Principal of GHS. You may be familiar with me as the Dean of Students from last year. It is truly an honor to be selected as the principal and I take this privilege seriously. I look forward to much collaboration with you as we offer the best education possible for your children. To that end, the entire team at GHS is prepared for a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong alliance with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:
1) Attends virtual school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning
2) Completes all homework assignments given by teachers
3) Makes up any classwork when absent
4) Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
5) Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
6) Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject
To help your child succeed and be aware of our school-wide expectations, please refer to our Parent-Student Handbook 2020-21. This handbook contains the rules so that you and your child can review them together. If you have any questions about the school expectations, please feel free to contact me or discuss them with your child’s teacher. It is very important that you and your child be fully informed regarding standards related to appropriate behavior for a safe and productive school year. In addition, although classes are online and your child is at home attending school, all of the rules of the school still apply. Please feel free to review the Parent-Student Handbook, which can be accessed at greenfieldhs.org under the “Student” tab.
Greenfield High School faculty, staff and administration feel truly privileged to be a part of this Bruin family in service to you and your child. We thank you for your support and look forward to working with you and your child to reach all of our academic and social goals. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to contact me by email at email@example.com or telephone at (831) 674-2751.
