English 2 Honors
Course Description
Meets all SMCJUHSD and college entrance requirements for English Language Arts. English 2A Honors is a full-year sophomore Honors English Class designed for college bound students who are performing at or above grade level in reading and writing. Students study grammar, literature, composition, and vocabulary development. Reading skills, paragraph writing and writing concepts are stressed. Students study various types of multicultural literature including poetry, drama, short stories, novels and prose. Composition skills include developing paragraphs, essays, and research projects. Students also develop speaking skills through practice with informal discussions and formal presentations.
