Course Description
In this class, students will choose a specific instrument from a selection of concert band instruments. Students will learn how to handle, maintain, play, and perform music on their chosen instrument. Students will also learn the fundamentals of music and how to read and write music.
Instruments include Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, and Trombone. Students will be able to perform songs at the appropriate beginner level by the end of the year. The main genre that will be played will be concert band music, although other genres may be explored depending on the developing skill level and needs of the students.
This course is a prerequisite for Advanced Band (Band 2)
