GHS Students: Food Service is excited to announce the opening of the new Lunch Line. Beginning today, you can now choose to get your lunch on the 1st floor of the new classroom building near the stairs, OR from the original lunch line by the Student Union.

Attention GHS Students. Our next scheduled Saturday School is this Saturday, March 12, 2022. Saturday School begins at 8am and ends at 12pm. Report to the front of the campus gates and do not be late, or you will not be let into Saturday School. Students are expected to bring schoolwork with them for the entire 4-hours. During Saturday School, you can clear either 1 full day of unexcused absence, up to 7 single period absences, or 8 tardies. All the Saturday School dates for the remainder of the Spring 2022 semester are listed on the GHS website home page under upcoming events.

Vamos a La Playa take 2 Prom 2022 Saturday, April 30th, 2022. At Monterey Beach House. Check the Prom 22 Microsoft Team for more information. Prom tickets must be paid in full by April first. Payments can be made at lunch Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays in room 206 with Mrs. Cortes There are only 30 seats left.

Congratulations to Maya Avalos for making it to the State Speech and Debate tournament this coming weekend. And, wish Denzel Isidro and Maya Avalos good luck at the National Qualifying Tournament March 20-22.

Attention AP students if you registered for AP exams, it is time to start making your payments. Remember that you must pay $5 per exam that you are taking. Payments can be made before school, during lunch, or after school with Ms. Rodriguez in room 508 or with Ms. Sanchez in the main office. All payments must be complete by the end of March. Reach out if you have any questions!

High Fives to Jesse Ramirez, Estefany Vasquez, Rosalba Sanchez, Aida Martinez-Bautista, Azucena Bautista, Aaron Solis, Rafael Arced, Valeria Arteaga-Higueros, Leandra Morales, Jacob Hernandez, Victor Contreras & Jasmine Rocha-Bonilla for successfully completing basic leadership training last weekend at Fort Hunter Ligget. These cadets spent time learning water survival, land navigation, first aid, and conquered the obstacle course. Cadet Contreras was named Iron Cadet & Cadet Vasquez most improved.

Today’s Senior Shout-out goes to: Jeniffer Hernandez-Rodriguez and Cindy Vasquez for their decision to attend Hartnell Community College. Congratulations Bruins, we are proud of you!!

Attention Juniors and Seniors the ASVAB a career exploration test used by the military but open to all students regardless of future career plans will be offered on Wednesday, March 16th! If you are interested in signing up please see Ms. Rodriguez in the College and Career Center-Room 508, before school, during lunch, or after school.

Heads up Bruins! Cheer tryouts are Monday, March 14th at 10 a.m. Meet at the home side of the track. Check our insta for links to the tryout dance and cheer, as well as a list of qualities we are looking for. Have questions? See Mrs. Radcliff in room 106. Otherwise stay sparkly.

Greenfield High School won regional awards in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Our students received 11 awards including 1 Golden Key Award, 4 Silver Key Awards, and 6 Honorable Mentions. The students whose work was recognized by Scholastic are: Jazmin Alonso, Irene Argueta, Aylin Correa, Destiny Perez, Marlene Tinajero, Jennifer Zavala, Ashalla Binning, Luz Gonzalez, and Christell Guzman. The Scholastic art and writing awards is the largest and oldest youth art competition of its kind. Historically, out of 350,000 works submitted, only top 6% of applicants received golden key award, 9% received silver key award, and only 15% received an honorable mention at the regional level. Gold key winners move on to the national competition and are eligible for scholarships and awards in New York city. Mr. Turek, Mrs. Tinajero-Pacheco, Mrs. Day, and Mr. Krier would like to thank all of the GHS artists that participated, more details to come on the awards show and national competition. The Pachanga De Patricio is an all inclusive dance with live Banda. Unlimited tacos, unlimited drinks, unlimited desserts, unlimited raspados and esquites comes with your ticket purchase. The Baile is Saturday, March 19th, from 6pm-10pm.

Seniors that attend the three workshops for the College Future Scholarship make sure you complete your Scholarship application deadline is March 15

Attention ELD and LTEL students. We will be having our ELAC meeting this Thursday, March 10th at 6:30 p.m. Please make sure you remind your parents about the meeting.
