Prom 2020
Prom 2020 is around the corner!  There are only 100 tickets left so go make your $50 per person deposit in room 206 before school and after school with Mrs. Cortes!  It is $185 for a single ticket and $365 for a couples ticket.  Vamos a la Playa May 23rd 2020!

Attention all Seniors!  National Recognition Products will be here one last time to take cap, gown, ring orders.  They will set up at lunch on February 21st.  This will be their last visit to GHS.

Attention all Freshmen
This Wednesday, February 19th you are invited to join your Link Leaders for a movie night.  This event is scheduled to begin at 1:45 P.M. and 3:30 P.M.  See you there and join us for a homerun of a time!  

Attention Juniors or Seniors
If you have interest in the medical field you may be eligible to participate in a Summer Health Institute.  You can pick up an application from counseling.  Applications are due by February 25th, 2020.

We will be having lunch time activities all week.  On Wednesday after school is our advisor show down.  Come and see which advisor is the best overall showman at the farm.  Wednesday is donkey basketball at King City High School at 6 P.M. and Thursday is our annual dodgeball tournament.  Sign up to compete in any ag class.  Come out to support and celebrate FFA and earn your FFA points.  
Ms. Rose the pig is looking for some love!  If you would like to see one of your favorite teachers or staff members kiss Rose the pig on Friday, February 21st add money to their Piggy jar.  The teacher with the most money at the end of the week will kiss the pig.  Teachers and staff who are participating are:

Tuesday Ag Fact of the day is:  Did you know a beef animal weighing 1,000 lbs will produce 640 lbs of meat products such as steak, roasted hamburgers, when other products and byproducts are considered 99% of the beef animal is used.  

Wednesday Ag Fact of the day is:  Each FFA jacket uses 1.6 yards of fabric, made from U.S. grown cotton.  More than 110,000 yards of fabric are used annually.

Thursday Ag Fact of the day is:  Did you know there are over 350 different lo reeds of horses that fall into four main groups.

Friday Ag Fact of the day is:  Did you know a carrot seed is so small that about 2,000 seeds can fit in a teaspoon.

Happy End of FFA Week!  Thank you for everyone who participated.  So who has a date at lunch today with Rose (Rosay) the pig?  Congratulations to Mr. Lynch on being the winner!  Come at lunch for our kiss the pig & petting zoo.  

Club Advisors
There will be a meeting for the upcoming Food Fair, whoever wants to participate in the food fair, there will be a meeting at lunch in room 206.  Please be prompt.  

Congratulations to the GHS Debate Team Members! 
GHS Debate Team members who competed this past weekend at the CAL Invitational at UC Berkeley.  A total of 2199 students, from 191 schools and 22 states competed.  Our team's outstanding performance came from Daniel Morales, who won 3 debates and came one win away from qualifying for Monday's elimination round.  Freshman Maya Avalos also had a noteworthy performance.  The team's next competition will be in March at the National Qualifiers at Bellermine Prep in San Jose.

Physics Club Members
Interested in going to Great America, please stop by room 104 during lunch on Wednesday, February 19th to pick up a fundraising box and for a quick meeting.  See you there!

Is this Friday, February 21st in the student union.  Doors open at 5:45 P.M. and you must have a valid Greenfield High School ID and your ticket.  Entry at the door will be $10.  We hope to see you there!
