PSAT Exam
Attention Sophomores & Juniors who are interested in attending college after high school.  It is time to sign up for the PSAT exam.  The PSAT is a great way to expose yourself to standardized testing and prepare for the SAT.  This years exam will take place on October 16th and will cost $17.  If you are interested in signing up, stop by and see Ms. Rodriguez in the counseling office.  Deadline to sign up is September 13th.  

ASVAB Career Exploration
Attention Juniors or Seniors  the ASVAB Career Exploration exam will be on Wednesday, September 18th students 11th through 12th grade are encouraged to participate.  The ASVAB assesses your ability to learn new skills & to predicts success in a wide variety of military and civilian careers.  Through this exam you will learn about your strengths to help you make the right career decision.  Sign up with Ms. Rodriguez.  Deadline is September 13th.  


Spirit Week
Friday, August 30th is our Back To School Rally
Spirit week begins Monday, August 26th through the 30th.  Are you ready for Battle Week?
Dress Up Days are as follows:
Monday:  Converse vs. Vans
Tuesday:  Flannel vs. Cardigans
Wednesday:  Lazy vs Classy
Thursday:  Nickelodeon vs. Disney
Friday:  Class Colors Freshmen wear Gray, Sophomores wear Black, Juniors wear white, and Senior wear Green.
Earn spirit points by getting counted the first 10 minutes of lunch.  Freshmen meet at the Library, Sophomores in front of the Student Union, Juniors in front of the 400 building, and Seniors meet at Bruno.  

Credit Recovery
Will begin August 27th.  Class will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:15 in room 296.  To register, turn in a credit recovery application to your counselor.

Drama Club
Drama Club Meeting this Thursday, August 29th after school in room 306.  Anyone who wants to do school plays is welcome.

SAT & ACT
Seniors, are you planning on applying for a 4 year university?  If so, you must take the SAT or ACT to be eligible.  Stop by today, after school to register in the library.  GEAR UP and ETS will be there to help.   

National Recognition Products
Attention all students!  National Recognition Products will be here this Thursday, August 29th to take make-up cap/gown/tassel and ring orders at lunch.  This will be their last visit at GHS.  See you at lunch!

CSF
All potential CSF sophomores-juniors-seniors.  It's time to apply for the 2019 Spring Semester.  If you are sure you made it with good grades in your academic classes-or if you aren't sure but want to find out come and get your application in room 607 with Mrs. Mendez.  You will also need your transcript and $3 for dues to complete the process.  Due date, this Friday, August 30th.   

Robotics Club Members
  • We have an emergency meeting Tuesday, August 27th after school.  Please meet in room 105 (Ms. Terry's Room).  If anyone is interested in joining please attend the meeting today after school.

Garden Club
There will be a Garden Club meeting this Thursday, August 29th during lunch in Mrs. Brusch classroom, room 203.  

Community Hours Opportunity
  • Get 3 hours of community hours on Saturday, September 21st from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Yanks Club House by the RV Park for more information see Mrs. Aguirre in the library or talk to Irene Garcia.  
  • Volunteers needed for translating at Arroyo Seco Academy for Back To School Night on Wednesday, August 28th from 5:30 to 7 P.M.  Please see Mrs. Aguirre in library for sign-in sheet.
  • Stop by the City's of Greenfield's Recreation Department, at table set up outside Student Union on Wednesday, September 4th during lunch.  
  • P.T.A. from Arroyo Seco school is looking for volunteers to help with their "Fiesta Night" even on Friday, September 13th from 5:30 P.M. to 8 P.M.  See Ms. Sanchez if interested in volunteering and getting community hours for this event.  

Attention Sophomores
Join us this Thursday for a class of 2022 meeting in room 202.  If you are interested in running for the vacant Vice-President position see Ms. Sanchez.  

Video game Club
If your interested in joining the new Video game Club stop by room 303 during lunch.  

Saturday School
Saturday School tomorrow.  Please meet in front of the gate before 8:30 A.M.  You must bring school work with you to Saturday School, and complete assignments in order to receive credit for attending.

Classified Champion
The first "Classified Champion" of the 2019-2020 year has shown their support to the staff, students, and families of Greenfield High School every day.   This person does the important work of reaching out to the parents to make sure that they feel included on the GHS campus. 
Due to their collaborative nature,adaptability, and positivity this month's Classified Champion goes to Ms. Patricia Sifuentes!

Tireless Teacher
The first "Tireless Teacher" of the 2019-2020 school year exemplifies Bruin Pride because of the support that they provide to GHS students and staff.  This teacher goes above and beyond to make sure that he provides innovative and engaging material for their students.  This teachers puts in extra time to make sure that all our Bruins are receiving the skills to be successful members of our community.  This teacher truly bleeds Bruin Green.  
Due to their caring personality, their enormous Bruin Heart, and commitment to providing support and opportunities to GHS students, this month's Tireless Teacher goes to Mr. Villaseñor!
